DAILY CHALLENGE

How a daily run works

01

Start the clock

Press “Play today's rally” to begin. Everyone gets the same eight questions on a given day. The clock starts when you open the first question.

02

Answer and lock

Use the on-screen number pad or your keyboard, then lock each answer. Questions allow 30, 40, or 50 seconds. If time runs out, that question scores zero and the run moves on.

03

See your breakdown

After round eight, see your total and each question's answer, time, and points. Share the score card and come back for a new puzzle at midnight Eastern time.

THE SCOREBOARD

How the 1,000 points add up

Harder rounds carry more weight.

The eight rounds are worth up to:

607090110130150170220

Those maximums total 1,000 points. They rise as the questions get harder.

Get it right. Then get faster.

A correct answer earns base points. Answering sooner adds a bonus that decreases smoothly until the timer ends. From the October 14 daily rally onward, base points total 600 and speed bonuses can add 400. Earlier daily games keep their original scoring. Wrong answers and timeouts score zero.

02

FRIENDS GROUPS

Keep daily scores together

A

Make or join a group

Create a group and share its invite link or eight-character code. A group can hold up to 20 friends, and you can join up to five groups on one browser identity.

B

Play whenever you like

Each friend plays the standard daily game on their own schedule. Their score appears in the group after they finish, even if they joined later that day.

C

Compare the last week

See members' scores for today or any of the previous six days. Group membership is tied to this browser, so keep using the same browser to see your groups.

WITH FRIENDS

Turn it into a live race

A

Create a room

Choose a name, then share the six-character room code or invite link. A room fits 2–8 players and expires after 24 hours.

B

Start together

Once at least two players have joined, the host starts a five-second countdown. Everyone sees the same questions on synchronized timers.

C

Race for the top

Lock each answer before its timer ends. The game reveals the answer between rounds and shows live standings. After eight rounds, everyone sees the final ranking.

GOOD TO KNOW

Quick answers to common questions

What math is in the game?

Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, simple percentages, order of operations (PEMDAS), and one-variable algebra. Every answer is a whole number.

Can I replay today's challenge?

You get one scored daily run per browser identity. Reopening the game lets you continue or revisit your result, but it does not reset the clock or your answers.

When does the daily puzzle change?

A new set appears at midnight in New York (Eastern time). The date follows local daylight saving time automatically.

Where is my streak saved?

Your streak, best score, and days played are saved in this browser. They do not sync to another device, and clearing browser data can remove them.

Do practice games count in a group?

No. The daily challenge is shared by everyone, so only that score appears on group boards. Easy and Challenge practice scores are for you to explore and replay.

Ready to beat your best?

One run takes just a few minutes. Your next 1,000-point shot starts now.
